Honeymoon: Banyan Tree, Seychelles Day 1

We were excited to get to our next beach destination - this time, the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. We were splitting our trip - first 6 nights at the Banyan Tree on the main island of Mahe and then the final destination for the honeymoon - the small and exclusive North Island in the Seychelles.

Our standard passport and tickets picture.

Our Emirates plane

After 4 hours of flight we started our landing and caught our first glimpse of the Seychelles islands. Lovely.

After landing and collecting our 500 pounds of luggage, we headed to the Banyan Tree hotel - making our way through the winding street through the mountains and trees. Upon arrival we were directed to the back deck of the arrival lounge where we got to see the beach, have some nice flavored water and relax before going to our room. The beach looked nice, but the water was rough.

We next headed to the room - we were lucky enough to be staying in the Presidential Villa which was supposedly awesome. It had an outdoor dining room, an outdoor living room, our own plunge pool and jacuzzi and sun deck. Very private and nice. When we walked into the room, they had a very nice touch waiting for us.

The view from our sundeck. Very nice.

We cracked into the champagne to toast our arrival at Banyan Tree.

Amy didnt waste much time jumping into the water and gazing out into the ocean.

Here is a video showing our room at the Banyan Tree in the Seychelles. It was huge and terrific.

After settling in and unpacking, we ate at the main restaurant outside overlooking the water. The food was good as were the tropical drinks.
