Honeymoon: Maldives, Day 6 Spa & BBQ

The next day, we got up for the continental breakfast. The room we were in was awesome – open on all sides to the water, great views and decorated in an interesting style.

We went to the spa which was supposed to be one of the best in the world – it did not disappoint. After pedicures (yes, Anthony did get a pedicure) and massages (which were fantastic), we were very relaxed. The spa environment was very cool.

After the spa, we went to the dive centre to take our final written certification test. After a 90 question multiple choice test and some last minute cramming, both of us passed the PADI certification. YES! Now, while Amy would like it noted she scored better than Anthony on the test, Anthony reminds the blog readers that Amy had already been certified so she should have done better than him.

After the test, we set out for a specially arranged private BBQ on the beach. Amy had her summer dress going.

The resort did a great job in setting up a nice spot for us.

The amount of food they served was ridiculous- it kept coming and coming. After salads and champagne, then the fish plate:

Followed by the meat plate

The rain held out long enough so we could have our dessert on the carpet and cushions on the beach (nice hair, Anthony).

The night was great.

Somewhere along the way, we forgot to blog about a fishing trip we took at night. We’ll put it here for ease of blogging.

We took a small boat excursion from 6-8:30pm to do some handline fishing. This is exactly what it sounds like – put a fishing line in the water with some bait with no fishing rod and yank the fish in the boat. Amy was a pro.
