Honeymoon: Maldives, Day 3 Diving

Day three started in much the same way as other days, breakfast at the villa with the sun shining. Except today, Anthony was going to put his new found scuba skills to good use in two dives to 12 metres (40 feet). Amy couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go diving as well so it was a family affair. Wet suit. Check.

A refresher course in hand signals on the dive boat from our dive instructor, Shaz. Check. (although, Anthony couldn’t help but wonder when he saw the size of Shaz “If I’m drowning, how does this little petite girl Shaz think she’s going to save me?”)

The calm before the storm

The dive was terrific. It was so cool to be swimming among all the fishes in a coral reef. The visibility was very good. Anthony kept trying to hold Amy’s hand underwater (ahhhhh).

After successfully completing two of the four dives required to become PADI certified, it was time to get to Reethi beach for our drinks and lunch. Put a name to a drink….

Two dives and sitting in the sun makes Amy a tired girl. Her daily afternoon nap tradition.

That night we went to Tapasake, a Japanese restaurant on the island. The food was good but the sake was better.
