Amy's 30th Birthday Weekend Celebration

We travelled back from the UK, first for Amy to go to a friend's wedding in Boston and then to begin the week long celebration of Amy's 30th birthday. Celebrations were had with Amy's family in Boston and then the party moved to NYC. First a dinner at Tao on Friday night. Great crew including Amy, Julie, Tami, Lauren, Nora (who make the trek from Boston - thank you!), Vanessa, Chad, Jarratt, Mike, Matt and Anthony.

We had a special guest come to the table with a sax and play happy birthday (still questionable about whether he was famous).

After a great meal, presents, lots of pictures and a few too many drinks, we were ready to head home to rest up for the big Saturday night party at Sway. Matt, being the responsible person he is, had to take out the trash before going to sleep....

After a surprise guest surprised Amy while Anthony, Amy and Nora were having lunch (Leanne), the girls walked around New York and preparations were made for a cocktail party at Vanessa and Matt's apartment before the party.

Then, on to Sway where we had a backroom and a bunch of tables to ourselves. 40-50 of Amy's closest friends joined the fun.

At midnight, the turning of the page on Amy's 20s was celebrated with a champagne toast by all involved, including what seems to be a strange sister ritual between the Martin sisters.

Champagne was quickly followed with an amazing cake handmade by one of Amy's friends, Kelly, delivered by Kelly's sister. While it was a little scary having Amy handle the knife after midnight and a few drinks, the cake was fantastic (thanks Kelly!).

Friends came from near and far to celebrate Amy's birthday, including a whole possee from Norwell.

The party was a 6 hour dance off - great music, plenty of room on the dance floor. Fun was had by all.

Matt apparently had skipped dinner, much to the dismay of Vanessa's arm.

While Anthony had had enough...

Leanne was the Energizer Bunny with her unique chicken dance....

Happy 30th Birthday Amy!
