The hotel had a whopping total of 4 rooms. The staff was very nice. The hotel was perfectly manicured everywhere and was decorated with a cool design. Amy came to the conclusion that she wishes her house will eventually look like this.

Each night we had a private dinner in one of several rooms on the main level. The food was amazing.

The highlight of the meal was the homemade bread. We could smell it in the oven every night and it seemed like we floated down to the dinner table to eat. Amy especialy loved her bread (so much so that Anthony started getting a little jealous - look at the joy on Amy's face).

Not wanting to feel left out, Anthony loved his wine in the gigantic glass as much as Amy loved her bread...

Even the lunches during the day were incredibly tasty. Quite the large bite there Amy.

After a few days, we left Monticchio and drove towards Naples where we were going to pick up the hydrofoil to the island of Capri. On the way, we took an afternoon stop over in the hilly town of Sienna.
First stop, of course the main church. This was an impressive church - very uniquely decorated inside with white and black stone throughout. In addition, the frescoes on the floors are some of the best preserved in italy. It was very neat.

From the church, we walked down to the main square. This is where chariot races were held in the "old days". Anthony remembered the square from his trip in 1995 with his family.

Some strange people came out in the square, including this lady with a big white umbrella and a parrot.

Time for lunch - which on our italy trip means pizzzzza. Yum!
