Positano & the Amalfi Coast, Italy - Aug 31- Sept 4

We made our way to Positano on the Amalfi Coast and as we approached, we were not disappointed. Amazing vistas.

Great view from the terrace from our hotel room.

We spent one afternoon on the beach in the middle of Positano. The water wasnt that nice, but the view from the beach was terrific.

The next day we rented a boat and sailed south along the the amalfi coast. We love being on the water so this was going to be a perfect day. This was Positano (the town we were staying in) from the water.

We passed many sites.

They had some grottos like capri along the coast. Here is a cool one where we could actually sail the boat directly into the grotto.

Anthony always uses a boat ride as an opportunity to do some swimming.

The most famous hotel on the amalfi coast was San Pietro which is beautiful and built into the stone. We would go there for dinner one night.

There is a town on the Amalfi Coast actually called Amalfi. This was a very nice town. Great shot from the water.

We stopped here and did some sight seeing. They had a nice church.

The most southern part of our sailing adventure was Salerno which is a large ciy onthe coast. We docked the boat for a while here and walked around the town which was nice.

That evening, we took a water taxi to the San Pietro hotel for dinner.

They built an elevator through the cliff to get from the water to the hotel. Pretty neat.

And, of course, the nightime view back to Positano from the deck of the hotel was impressive.

One of the days we took a driving tour of the amalfi coast since we saw the coast from the water, we thought we'd get a different perspective from the land. We made our way up and down the coast through the famous winding roads of amalfi. Amy was ready.

This is Positano from the road above.

We passed this rock formation which is known as the Virgin Mary as it looks like its a woman holding a bouquet.

The ultimate stop on our drive was Ravello, a small town on top of the hill. We hiked our way to a hotel that supposedly had amazing views. We were not disappointed. Cool gardens on top of a cliff.

Wow - this cliff was hair raising.

We loved this part of the trip. It is a romantic, sceanic and incredible place that everyone shot visit. Next up - our final part of the trip - the lost city of Pompeii and the Rome.
