We first stopped at another local site. Same situation - bland outside, courtyard and carvings inside. This was a larger school as well. The details were impressive - especially the ceilings.

The next stop on the tour was the formerly private gardens of Yves Saint Laurent (the famous fashionista). Yves had brought all different types of different species of plants to the garden in the middle of the city. Among the greenery were bright blue and yellow colors of the house and the plant vases. The garden also had a nice little museum of marrakech history which Amy, in particular, enjoyed.

After the garden, we headed to a leather store where Amy got a new wallet. We then went nearby to an antique store to meet Mohammed's son who ran the store. On the wall were dozens of pictures of mohammed with the past presidents, celebrities, etc. Impressive collection. The store also had very interesting things. A cool bench caught Amy's eye and a game table caught Anthony's eye. Both were from the 1930s. As a Valentine's Day gift, Anthony decided to buy the bench and game table. That got Amy thinking - what if we got a piece of furniture from every place that we visit for our future home. Ut oh......

After the shopping spree, we headed to Mohammed's riad (hotel), Riad Kniza (named after his daughter), for lunch. The place was in a less than optimal location, but when you walked in, it was beautiful. Carvings everywhere, nice courtyard. Mohammed, hearing that Amy and I were engaged, had a private room by a fireplace set up for us with rose pedals on the table. The service was great and the food was terrific (and a lot).

After our great meal (and some wedding/marriage advice), it was time for us to say goodbye to Mohammed. Mohammed wished us luck with our wedding and marriage. Anthony said he would send Mohammed a picture from our wedding to be hung on the wall next to Ronald Reagan!
We took a drive through the Oasis, passing camel and buggy rides along the way. The oasis is a new, rich part of town that had large, nice houses, and some golf courses. After getting back to the hotel, it was time to relax a bit on the terrace and take care of some wedding planning. Anthony taught Amy how to play backgammon (in anticipation of the game table's arrival purchased earlier in the day). She beat him for those that were wondering.
We headed to dinner at a "hip" spot in Morocco for our Valentine's day dinner. We were enjoying our tangine and other food, when the lights went down and this lady showed up...

It was bellydancing time!! They got up on the tables. Everyone in the restaurant was clapping....

After the excitement cooled down, we finished up our meals. Amy even got a rose to commemorate valentine's day.
