Paris is for ....

me and my mom.

Monday of my parents visit took my mom, my dad, Cynthia and myself to Paris. Dad and Cynthia had boring work to do, but my mom and I got to do the fun stuff.
We started off at the Eiffel Tower. We had both been before and logically decided that we did not need to go all the way to the top- the views were just as good on the second level.

Then we had some time before meeting Perrine, our exchange student who lived with us my sophomore year in high school, so we walked to l'Arc de Triomphe. We may have stopped in some stores along the Champs Elysees as well ;)

Later that same day we met Perrine and her two adorable little children:
Romaine

and Viggo.

They quickly warmed up to us although communication was tough as they do not speak English and my mom and I speak not so well in French. We would try to say something and Romaine would say, "No" and laugh. Oh well!

Following a delicious French dinner cooked by Perrine, my mom and I set off the next day for Centre Pompidou- a mecca for modern art. The escalators are enclosed in tubes of glass which gave excellent views of Paris- almost as good as the Eiffel Tower. We saw an retrospective of Jacques Villegle- a French artist who made collage like works out of the posters he found on the street.

And then just as I was getting a hang of the language again... it was time to get back on the Eurostar and head back to London.
