Martins in Manhattan

Two weeks ago, Amy and Anthony persuaded Ed, Nancy and even Logan to drive down to NYC and spend some time with them. At first, Logan was disappointed- he wanted to go on the train and even spent the majority of the drive down telling Grammy and Bampa how much better the train is than a car.

The weather on the first day was a little subpar- rain/ snow- not the best for roaming around the city, but we had things to accomplish. First up, Pottery Barn Kids. Luckily for Logan, there were plenty of books around.


Then for more fun we headed to Dylans Candy Bar. I am not sure who was more excited- Bampa or Logan, but I do know they both got their own candy bag! Before long though, we had to head uptown to Amy's ultrasound appointment. Logan got a little hungry in the waiting room...

Logan was very impressed with the pictures and seeing his new cousin. Women everywhere agreed with him when he said "wouldn't it be good if the baby could just come out of the tv?" Yes- that would be a lot easier!

For dinner, we headed all the way to Chinatown. Apparently, going to China for half the year is not enough for Ed he needs to check out the Peking duck in America too! Here is the duck being served.

Sometimes Logan can be a handful during dinners, but we found a way to entertain him!
For the record, Ed declared the Peking Duck delicious and the rest of the food- typical American Chinese food.

We had a BIG day planned for the Wedsnesday. First up, was the Natural History Museum. Logan had been to the London one and he was excited to see how the NYC one compared. Here are Amy and Logan by the elephants.

Amy is attempting to explain some sort of fossil in this one. We are not so sure she is doing a good job though- Logan doesn't look convinced.


We headed downstairs to one of the highlights of the museum - the blue whale! Logan was more interested in the dolphin display- like mother, like son!


Shortly thereafter, Logan declared he was hungry. This was good because so was Amy- and you never keep a pregnant woman waiting! We grabbed a quick bite and headed to our next destination.... the INTREPID Museum. This was definitely the highlight of Logan's trip.



There were also rides and things to play with.

We had a great time together, although Logan wants us to move back to London, we think he will look at all these pics and change his mind!
