Vacation - Florida leg, March 10-15

After a nice visit in Boston, we headed down to Naples, Florida to spend some time i the sun with the Civale family. A rare thing occured, we got the whole Civale family (and all significant others) to come down at the same time to enjoy the fun. But first, golf, golf and more golf.

Amy continued her impressive start to the sport of golfing on this vacation as well, picking up right where she left off in December.

In fact, this picture was taken moments after Amy got her first par - it is on the green right in the back of the Civale family house. Nice work Amy!

We were excited to hang out with the full crew. Including Matt and Vanessa....

Mike, Julie and Maddy....

Jeanette and Tony (after a funny joke).....

The second night we were all in town, Anthony's mom had arranged for a big birthday celebration. Anthony's dog, Taylor (a black lab), had turned 15 the week before, so we all needed to celebrate in style. First, the balloons. In order to stick them on the wall, we needed to create some static by rubbing the balloons on people's hair. Anthony's father wasnt the best creater of static (given his depleted hair count - - sorry chief!)

Then on to birthday hats...

Taylor's Mom (Anthony's mother who has taken care of Taylor since Anthony graduated from college) and Dad (Anthony who took care of, sorta, Taylor in the first two years of her life while in college at Middlebury) pose for a picture with the birthday girl.

What would a birthday be without cakes and singing?

And to top it all off - pretty, pretty sparklers. Taylor had enough of the party at that moment and ran into the house for the peace and quiet. 105 years old cant handle all this yelling!

The next day, the whole crew (minus Vanessa who had to stay home and do work - bummer) headed out on the open seas for some family fishing.

The Civale parents wasted no time - Anthony's mom caught her first ever fish within minutes of having the bait in the water. "Oh - let it live, through it back in!", could be heard.

Anthony's father seemed like an old pro. The captain continually complemented his fishing abilities and he caught the most fish of the day and also the largest. Lots of Snapper for everyone!

Fishing was a lot of fun for all involved.

Ahoy mates, there she blows (or here, there's a dolphin beside the boat right there!)

The full fishing crew....

Amy and Anthony both passed out on each other - this was as uncomfortable as it looks!

We went home and grilled up our feast of Snapper and King fish. It was very tasty. We were all exhausted from the sun and the water. Shortly after dinner, the civale boys (and Maddy) decided to crash for a bit.

We were sorry to leave the next day, but back to London, work and reality! Anthony had to say goodbye to Taylor first.

Then, we drove to Miami along alligator ally in our convertible (Amy excitedly saw her alligator) and took a plane back to London (flying a few seats away from us was Diana Ross!). It was a great trip back to the states and a lot of fun with both of our families.
